Child Development Center Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are the teachers certified and specially trained?

A: The lead teachers in each classroom are highly qualified, possessing a teaching license with a preschool endorsement in addition to achieving 20 hours of annual professional development in the field of early childhood education and development. The classroom assistant teachers are degreed professionals that have earned their teaching licenses, or are working toward the Child Development Associate credential or an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  Many staff have attained advanced degrees and credentials.  All full-time staff members are formally training in the implementation of our curriculum, including the curriculum assessment tool to monitor child progress.  Additionally, full-time staff members are formally trained in our developmental screening tools, the results of which are shared with parents semi-annually during Parent-Teacher conferences.  Teachers receive training in ITERS and ECERS environmental rating scales to ensure that their classrooms are thoughtfully and intentionally planned and organized to provide the best learning environments.
