Welcome! The Rutgers Psychology Child Development Center is comprised of 2 twelve-month Rutgers University preschools, sponsored and operated by the Psychology Department at 2 beautiful campus locations. The Center provides early care and education for children ages 1-5 years of age and can trace its history back to 1930. Our collaboration with the Culture of Health Academy within the Center for Childhood Nutrition Education and Research at the Institute for Food, Nutrition, and Health has led to a program expansion and the opening of a second site. Both sites are located on the Cook/Douglass campuses of Rutgers New Brunswick.
Health and Safety is a priority in our program. We successfully reopened our programs in August 2020 under our Pathway Back to Preschool reopening plan. We continue to clean and sanitize toys, materials, and surfaces daily. Bi-monthly, our preschool facilities are treated with a antimicrobial coating, LAST, in an effort to sanitize our learning environment and help protect against the spread of germs. All individuals over the age of 2 years wear masks when indoors. All adults working in our programs in any capacity must be fully vaccinated and boosted, or otherwise undergo weekly PCR testing in accordance with Rutgers University COVID-19 policies.
Normal Operating Hours! Both preschools will be open Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm
Check Us Out! The PreK children enrolled in our Kinder Garden Program participated in a filming of The Kids Cook Monday.
