NOW ACCEPTING ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS FOR  THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR!

Join Online Waiting List

to be considered for Summer & Fall 2025!

Enrollment at Rutgers Psychology Child Development Center is open to children from 1 through 5 years of age. Enrollment shall be granted without regard to a child’s race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, or disability; and without regard to a parent or guardian’s race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, gender, pregnancy, or disability. Enrollment and classroom placements are based on the child’s age by October 1 to facilitate yearly transitions to older classrooms and ultimately, into grade school. Emphasis is placed upon social-emotional development; varying cognitive development levels within classrooms are addressed through individualized curriculum. Children must be toilet-trained to enroll into our Kinder Garden classes.

For safety and security reasons, tours of the Nursery and Kinder Garden are available to parents of children who have joined our waiting list.

All openings in the Center are filled from the Waiting List. Parents can apply to the Waiting List for their child at Rutgers Psychology Child Development Center by completing the Online Waiting List Application. Applying to the Online Waiting List does not guarantee any child a place in the program. Parents who apply to the Waiting List will be contacted when a place in the program becomes available for which their child is eligible to apply. Enrollment in our classrooms is based on age and children will automatically be assigned to the waiting list for the classroom for which they are old enough to attend.

Families who wish to enroll their child must first join our Waiting List so that preliminary information may be collected to determine classroom placement and availability. All children enrolled in the program must provide the following documents for enrollment:

  1. Signed Enrollment Application and Fee Agreement
  2. Completed and signed Emergency Card, with at least 2 emergency contacts other than parents provided
  3. Upon admission, a current Universal Health Record and up-to-date immunization record, and updated annually on child’s birthday thereafter
  4. Proof of influenza vaccination annually between September 1-December 31, unless medical/religious waiver is provided
  5. Signed receipt for parent handbook and policies, as indicated by the Office of Licensing.

As an affiliate of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, priority enrollment is given to active Rutgers affiliates. Priority consideration for Rutgers affiliates* is given in this order:

  1. Psychology Department/IFNH faculty, staff, and students
  2. Siblings of children currently or previously enrolled
  3. Current Rutgers employees
  4. Current Rutgers students
  5. Rutgers Alumni
  6. Non-Rutgers applicants

*Proof of active affiliation may be requested
